Samsung North America

Description: LEED certified state of the art 10-story tower in Silicon Valley. The towers include offices, research & development facility, clean room, data center, full service cafeteria, fitness spaces, and meditation gardens for up to 2,000 Samsung employees.
Disney Grand Central
Completion Date & Size: September 2012, 237,000 SF
Description: The 6-story North building consists of office space. The South building has 1 below-grade level and 5 above-grade levels. This building also houses a central plant, grade-level cafeteria, and offices above. Phase 2A parking structure has 6 above-grade levels and 1 below-grade level with a total of 1,260 stalls.
Academy of Science
Completion Date & Size: September 2008, 410,000 SF
Description: For the project, Control Air used 3D coordination with direct download capabilities, fully welded stainless steel lab and grease exhaust systems herosite coated exhaust systems, fiberglass reinforced plastic systems, and custom duct construction to match the compound radius of the steel structure and architectural features. Galvanized sheet metal duct with TDC connectors were used, as well as double wall model PS positive pressure stainless steel boiler and generator exhaust.
Kaiser Hospital Anaheim
Completion Date & Size: December 2011, 600,000 SF| $50,200,000
Description: 6-story, 262 bed hospital, including a 3-story central utility plant, tower and hospital. The support building on a 27 acre site. Project completed approximately six months ahead of schedule.
Completion Date & Size: September 2009, 106,465 SF
Description: 4-story patient care tower includes ICU beds, diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, a linear accelerator, chapel, and mechanical space in the basement. The main hospital connects to this new tower by a 175-foot underground pedestrian bridge.
Fresno Court House
Completion Date & Size: August 2006, 40,000 SF
Description: 11-stories housing 14 courtrooms for district magistrate, special proceeding and bankruptcy courts including office spaces for US Attorneys and US Marshals. Included underfloor air distribution for the lower office floors, outside air monitoring for all mechanical systems and a central plant integrated into a multiple level penthouse structure.
UCI Medical Center
Completion Date & Size: December 2008, 400,000 SF
Description: New 7-Story tower with a 2,000 ton central plant that includes laboratories, food service, trauma center, and infrastructure improvements that promote health and wellness. This building took precedence as the first large Design-Build hospital with OSHPD requirements, providing the framework for all future developments.
Li Ka-Shing Center
Completion Date & Size: Decemeber 2011, 200,000 SF
Description: The center serves about 450 researchers in the fields of cancer biology, infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and stem cell biology. They are pursuing a multi-disciplinary approach to studying the molecular basis of these illnesses in order to research the root causes of diseases such as cancer, HIV, tuberculosis, and Alzheimer’s. In total, there are nearly 22,000 SF of labs, 64,100 SF of lab support, 1,920 SF of interaction space, and 9,500 SF of office
and administration space.
Sunset & Gordon Apartments
Completion Date & Size: October 2014, 300,000 SF
Description: 23-story building located in Hollywood with a residential tower built above a five-level above grade podium with three and a half levels of underground parking. Mixed-use project includes 311 residences with 40,000 SF office space, 13,000 SF retail space, 8,500 SF for restaurant use and a 508 space parking garage.
USC Annenberg Building
Completion Date & Size: June 2014, 88,000 SF
Description: 5-Story building that includes a 20,000 SF newsroom, a four-story atrium with rooftop skylight and a multi-story digital media tower. The building is designed with the flexibility to accommodate future innovations in communication technologies.
CSULA Student Union
Completion Date & Size: May 2008, 93,138 SF
Description: 4-story Type II building with basement. 8,372 SF exterior balconies delivered via Design Build method. Building designed to accommodate public gathering spaces, reading rooms, 195-seat theater, two food service facilities, computer laboratory, 10,000 SF fitness facility, maintenance shops and offices.
Anaheim Convention Center
Completion Date & Size: October 2000, 750,000 SF
Description: Multi-function convention center complex expansion of the existing facility. Upgraded existing exhibit space, a 38,000 SF ballroom, lobby, pre-function space and a kitchen. Building remained fully operational during construction. A central utilities plant was also developed. New chiller plant working concurrently with the existing chiller plants. The new plant designed to expand to take over the capacity of the old plants as they are taken off-line at the end of their useful life.

Description: 2-story GMP Clinical Manufacturing facility, a 3-story research and development and Administration facility, a single story amenities building, and a central plant. This campus houses research for new cancer treatments. Seeking LEED Silver Certification.

Description: Renovation of the mall’s eastern half created a new contemporary look and added more pedestrian access between stores. A new dining terrace and upgrades to the mix of retail shops and tenant improvements.
LA Crime Lab
Completion Date & Size: July 2007, 209,000 SF
Description: 6-story multi-use building. Central Plant included 3-300 Ton Centrifugal Chillers, 3-Chilled Water Pumps, 3-Condenser Water Pumps, 3-300 MBA Hot Water Boilers, 3-Primary Heating Pumps, 2-Secondary Heating Hot Water Pumps and 3-Cooling Tower Cells. The Lab Air System consists of Phoenix Controls and a separate BAS System controls the general administrative area.
